Palma Airport to Port d'Alcúdia taxi and transfers
It is 58 km from the terminal to the marina at Port d'Alcúdia, and the drive takes about 55 minutes on the Ma-13. On the meter you will pay roughly €78 on a weekday afternoon and closer to €95 on a Saturday night. The drive itself is 55 minutes whichever you choose. Everything above that number is queueing, waiting for a coach to fill, and other people's hotels.
How much is a taxi from Palma Airport to Port d'Alcúdia?
Since Mallorca moved to a single island-wide reference tariff in May 2025, this route is unusually easy to check for yourself. Journeys starting at the airport begin at a minimum fare of €16.95, which covers the flag-fall, the €4.65 airport supplement and the first seven kilometres. After that you are paying €1.20 a kilometre on weekdays between 07:00 and 21:00, and €1.35 a kilometre at night, at weekends and on public holidays. A weekday early-afternoon arrival, no delay, a hotel at the Alcúdia end of the bay. That journey lands near €80 and the rank genuinely wins on price. We would rather say so than pretend the meter is always the villain. What you give up is the queue, which between 20:00 and 23:00 in August regularly runs 30 to 40 minutes.
lock What the €105 actually buys
A number that does not move. Not for a 23:00 landing, not for a Sunday, not for a two-hour delay, not for Christmas week, not for a Playa de Muro address eight kilometres further along the bay than the one your neighbour booked. On a route this long, that is the whole product.
The meter can change band mid-journey. Leave the rank at 20:48 on a Wednesday and you are on the cheaper weekday rate for eight minutes and the night rate for the remaining forty-seven — across the longest stretch of the Ma-13. A twenty-minute inbound delay you had no control over decides which rate covers most of your drive.
How long does the transfer take, and what slows it down?
About 55 minutes for the 58 kilometres, nearly all of it on the Ma-13 motorway through Inca and Sa Pobla. It is a flat, well-surfaced run with no mountain sections and no toll, which is why the time is so predictable compared with, say, the drive over to Sóller or Deià.
Two things stretch it. The first is the final approach into the bay: in July and August the roundabouts at Port d'Alcúdia and the strip road along Platja d'Alcúdia can add ten to fifteen minutes on a changeover Saturday. The second is where your hotel sits, and on this route that matters more than almost anywhere else in Mallorca, because the bay is fourteen kilometres long. Alcúdia old town is about 52 km from the terminal; the far end of Playa de Muro is closer to 63 km. That is a real fifteen-minute swing, and on a meter it is a real €15.

The A33 and A32 airport buses: what changed for 2026
Public transport to the Alcúdia bay is better than most visitors expect, and better than it was two years ago. Until recently the AeroTIB airport coaches were summer-only, which meant an October arrival involved a change in Palma. That is no longer true: from November 2025 the Balearic government began running these airport lines through the low season for the first time. If you have read elsewhere that the bus stops for winter, that advice is out of date.

Port d'Alcúdia — Alcúdia — Sa Pobla — Inca — Airport. Around 35 departures a day at roughly hourly intervals, with the first bus leaving Port d'Alcúdia at about 04:15 and the last leaving the airport close to 23:35. For the Pollença bay you change at the Alcúdia or Port d'Alcúdia stops.
Summer line
Roughly late March to October
The longer seasonal route, replacing the A33: Airport — Inca — Sa Pobla — Alcúdia — Port d'Alcúdia — Platja d'Alcúdia — Platja de Muro — Can Picafort. This is the one that reaches the far end of the bay without a change.

Five things the timetable does not tell you
- contactless Tap in when you board and tap out when you get off, with the same card or phone. Miss the tap-out and you can be charged the full-line fare.
- block Both lines are express airport services. You may travel to or from the airport only, not between two intermediate stops, so you cannot use them to hop from Alcúdia to Can Picafort.
- pan_tool Sa Pobla is a request stop and has historically needed advance notice to TIB. If it is your stop, confirm the current procedure rather than assuming the driver will pull in.
- luggage There is hold space underneath, but you load and unload it yourself, at the roadside, in whatever weather is happening.
- child_care Under-fives travel free, which improves the arithmetic for young families more than people expect.
Line branding and timetables shift with the season, so check your travel date on tib.org before you rely on a departure. For two adults travelling light on a daytime arrival, the bus is excellent value and we will not pretend otherwise. For four people with cases at 23:00, the arithmetic collapses.

My package includes a coach transfer. Should I upgrade?
If you booked through TUI, Jet2 or a similar operator, a coach transfer is almost certainly already inside the price you paid. The honest answer turns on one variable that nobody shows you at checkout: where you sit in the drop-off order.
A resort coach to the Alcúdia bay typically serves five to eight hotels. It waits at the airport until it is full, which can be forty minutes after you clear reclaim, then works its way along the strip. If your hotel is the sixth stop, a 55-minute drive becomes closer to two hours and twenty minutes door to door — and that clock starts when you land, not when the coach pulls away.

Ask your operator for the drop-off order before you write off a transfer you have already paid for. It is a fair question and reps will usually answer it.
Alcúdia, Port d'Alcúdia or Playa de Muro — which one are you booked into?
These names get used interchangeably in booking confirmations, and they are not the same place. The bay runs fourteen kilometres from the walled town round to Can Picafort, so picking the wrong one costs you a fifteen-minute drive at the end of a long day.

The walled medieval town, set back from the water. Quieter, with the Roman ruins at Pol·lèntia and a market on Tuesdays and Sundays.

When you book with us, give the hotel or apartment name and street, not the resort name. A driver waiting at the wrong end of a fourteen-kilometre bay is the single most common avoidable problem on this route.

Going back: Port d'Alcúdia to Palma Airport
This is the leg people get wrong, and the reason is simple: it is easy to find a ride at an airport and hard to find one in a resort. Rank taxis are thin on the ground in Port d'Alcúdia outside the summer months, and at 04:00 — which is when most UK morning departures need collecting — there is no realistic hail-a-cab option at all.
The airport bus is a genuine alternative here, more so than most sites admit. The winter A33 runs its first departure from Port d'Alcúdia at around 04:15, and the summer A32 starts early too. What you are accepting is an hourly frequency, a walk to the stop with your cases in the dark, and a timetable that does not care what time your check-in closes. If that works for your flight, take it.
Working backwards from your departure
Allow 65 minutes for the drive, then add your airline's check-in window. PMI's summer security and check-in queues are slow enough that we would want you at the terminal two and a half to three hours before a July departure.

Is there a direct bus from Palma Airport to Alcúdia in winter?

Yes, and this changed recently. The A33 replaced the seasonal-only arrangement from November 2025 and runs through the low season, calling at Inca, Sa Pobla, Alcúdia and Port d'Alcúdia with around 35 departures a day. In summer the longer A32 takes over and continues along the bay to Platja de Muro and Can Picafort. Older guides that say the airport bus stops in winter are out of date — but always confirm your own travel date on tib.org.
Is the transfer price per person or per vehicle?

Per vehicle. The €105 covers up to four passengers in a saloon; larger vehicles are quoted separately at booking. A family of four pays the same as a solo traveller, which is why this route flips in favour of a private car at three or more people — the bus charges each of you.
Should I cancel the coach transfer included in my package?

It depends entirely on your position in the drop-off order, so ask your operator before deciding. A coach serving six hotels along the bay can turn a 55-minute drive into two hours and twenty minutes. If you land mid-afternoon and your hotel is an early stop, stay on it. If you land late, have small children, or are staying at a villa the coach will not reach, the upgrade earns its money.
What time should I be collected from Port d'Alcúdia for an early flight?

Allow 65 minutes for the drive plus your check-in window. For a 07:00 departure in summer, a 04:15 pickup is comfortable. Book the return at the same time as the arrival: rank taxis are scarce in the north outside the season and effectively unavailable before dawn.
Is Playa de Muro the same price as Port d'Alcúdia?

On the meter, no — Playa de Muro is around five kilometres further, which is roughly €6–8 more. On a pre-booked fixed fare the bay is priced as one zone, so the quote you are given at booking is the quote you pay wherever along the strip you are staying. Enter the exact address and the system will confirm it before you commit.
