Quick answers

Charles de Gaulle Airport taxi: the short answers

The questions travellers ask most before landing at CDG, answered in a few lines each. The detail follows below.

How much is a taxi from CDG to Paris in 2026?

An official Paris taxi from the rank costs a flat €56 to the Right Bank or €65 to the Left Bank, for up to 4 passengers, at any hour. A pre-booked private transfer with Global Airport Taxi starts at a fixed €59 per car and is the same for any address.

How long does it take to get from CDG to central Paris?

40–60 minutes on a normal day, and up to 90 at weekday rush hour or on Friday evenings, because the A1 motorway is the bottleneck. Central Paris is 25–35 km from the terminals, depending on the arrondissement.

Where is the taxi rank at Charles de Gaulle?

Outside the arrivals exit of every terminal: gate 24 at Terminal 1, gates 6, 14 and 7 at 2A, 2C and 2D, gate 10 at 2E, gate 11 at 2F, the Blue Gate at 2G, and just outside the arrivals hall at Terminal 3.

Where do I meet my driver at CDG?

In the arrivals hall of your terminal, where your driver waits with a board showing your name. Before you travel we send the driver’s name, mobile number and the exact meeting point for your terminal.

Do the flat fares cover La Défense or Disneyland?

No. The flat fare covers only a direct trip between CDG and an address in Paris. La Défense, Disneyland, Versailles and the Roissy hotels go on the meter. A pre-booked transfer is a fixed price: from €75 to La Défense and €85 to Disneyland Paris.

How long is the taxi queue at CDG?

Anywhere from zero to 40 minutes. It is longest from 06:00 to 09:00 and from 17:00 to 21:00, when long-haul flights land together. Midday is usually quiet, and late at night there can be too few cars.

What if my flight is delayed?

No extra charge: we track your flight, so a delay simply moves the pickup. After landing, 60 minutes of waiting are included for passport control and baggage reclaim.

Will the new EES border check delay my pickup?

It can: since 10 April 2026 non-EU arrivals are enrolled biometrically on their first entry, which adds time at border control. Your driver tracks your landing, and the 60 free minutes absorb the queue.

Why book

Why travellers pre-book at Charles de Gaulle

A pre-booked car swaps the rank queue for a driver who is already waiting, at a price you know before you fly.

The price cannot move

Agreed at booking and printed on your confirmation. Traffic on the A1, a diverted landing or a longer route is our problem, not a line on your bill.

Someone is looking for you

A name board in the arrivals hall matters most when you are least able to solve problems: late, tired and in a language you may not speak.

Fixed beyond the city limits

Villepinte, Disneyland, La Défense, Reims, Brussels. The regulated fare stops at the Paris boundary. Our prices do not.

Licensed, insured drivers

Every driver is licensed, insured and vetted before joining the network, and is rated after every trip. Drivers speak English and French, with Spanish and Arabic available.

A human at 03:00

A phone line and WhatsApp with a real person on the other end, in the hours when a chatbot is no help at all.

Free cancellation up to 24 hours

Cancel up to 24 hours before the pickup at no cost. Late cancellations and no-shows follow the terms of your booking.

The conditions behind each promise, including cancellation, waiting time and child seats, are in our terms. Read what passengers say on our reviews page.

Who you are booking with, and what is promised in writing

A transfer is only as good as the people and the rules behind it. Here is who arranges your booking, what we promise and where to read the full terms.

Who you are booking with

Global Airport Taxi is a trading name of QMH Technologies Ltd, registered in England and Wales (company no. 13506378, VAT GB 469 6859 13), at 10-16 Tiller Road, London E14 8PX. You can reach us by email at bookings@globalairporttaxi.com or on WhatsApp.

How it works

From touchdown to your front door

It takes a few minutes to book. Here is what happens next.

  1. Book with your flight number

It is the field that matters most. We follow the real landing time, so a two-hour delay out of Dubai or an early arrival from New York changes nothing for you.

  2. Get your driver’s details

Before pickup you receive the driver’s name, mobile number and the exact meeting point for your terminal. Keep your phone on when you switch off flight mode.

  3. Walk out to a name board

Passport control and baggage at 2E can take an hour on a bad day, and that hour is already covered. If you are held longer, message the driver and we keep them there wherever we can.

  4. Pay what the confirmation says

Pay online in advance, or by card or cash on the day. A VAT receipt is emailed to you, which is what most expense systems ask for.

Official taxi fares

CDG taxi fares in 2026: what you should pay

Whether you need a taxi from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport to a hotel in the city or to a destination outside it, two price systems run side by side, and most confusion comes from mixing them up.

Paris taxi Charles de Gaulle Airport fares: the official flat rates

Rank taxis

Licensed Paris taxis from the rank charge a flat fare set each year by the French state, but only for a direct trip between the airport and an address inside Paris itself. It applies in both directions, day and night, weekends and holidays included, and luggage is included.

Pre-booked transfers

Private transfers like ours quote one fixed price per car for any address at all. That matters because a large share of CDG arrivals are not going to central Paris.

Left Bank (5, 6, 7, 13, 14, 15)€65€59Our fixed price starts about €6 lower than the flat fare

Our price is the starting price for a sedan with up to 3 passengers. The flat fare covers up to four passengers in one taxi, so for four people with large cases compare it with a van, from €89.

Enter a postcode to see which flat fare applies.

Right Bank (Rive Droite): €56

North of the river: postcodes 75001–75004, 75008–75012 and 75016–75020. Champs-Élysées, the Louvre, the Marais, Opéra, Montmartre and Bastille. The Île de la Cité, with Notre-Dame on it, is charged at the Right Bank rate.

Left Bank (Rive Gauche): €65

South of the river: postcodes 75005–75007 and 75013–75015. The Eiffel Tower, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, the Latin Quarter and Montparnasse feel central, but they are on the dearer side from CDG.

The flat fares are set by the order of 24 December 2025 and are maximums: a driver may offer less, never more. The booking supplement and the fifth-passenger supplement are the only extras allowed, and there is no luggage charge. Outside the Paris city limits, including La Défense, Disneyland, Versailles, Roissy hotels, Saint-Denis and Villepinte, the meter applies and the final figure depends on traffic.

Compared

Every way from CDG to Paris, compared

We sell transfers, so check this against anything else you read. If you land after a long-haul flight with a family and four large cases, the pre-booked car is the calm choice; for one traveller in daylight, the rank is fine too.

Two licences, two ways to book

In France a taxi parisien can be hailed and queues at the rank. A private-hire driver, known as a VTC, can only carry passengers who booked in advance, and meets you in the arrivals hall instead. Both are legal and insured.

What is actually different

The practical difference is where you find the car and how the price is set. A rank taxi has a regulated flat fare into Paris and a meter outside it. A pre-booked car has one fixed price per vehicle, wherever you are going.

Which option suits you

Travelling alone, light bag

The rank is straightforward: a flat €56 or €65 into Paris, with nothing to work out. The RER B at €14 is the budget alternative if you can manage the stairs at Gare du Nord.

Two to four people with suitcases

Do the maths on luggage, not seats. A rank taxi takes four passengers but rarely four large cases, so a pre-booked van from €89 is the safer choice for a family off a long-haul flight.

Late arrival, first visit or young children

Book ahead. The last RER B leaves around midnight, and a tired family with a trolley is exactly who the unlicensed touts in the arrivals hall are looking for.

Prices are 2026 estimates in euros. Public transport fares are set by Île-de-France Mobilités and change each January. Times vary with traffic and the exact address.

Groups and luggage

Count the bags, not the seats

The most common booking mistake at CDG is a sedan for four adults off a long-haul flight. Four people fit. Four people and four large suitcases do not.

The rank

The official taxi rank at CDG: where it is and how it works

Charles de Gaulle has one of Europe’s better-regulated taxi systems, and one of its more persistent tout problems. Ninety seconds of reading is enough to tell them apart.

Follow the signs, never a person

Every terminal has a marshalled rank on the arrivals level, signposted “Taxi”. A marshal gives you the next car: you cannot choose it, and you cannot negotiate the flat fare into Paris.

Recognise a licensed car

A licensed Paris taxi has a “TAXI PARISIEN” roof light, a meter and the driver’s licence on show. The roof light is typically green when the car is free and red when it is hired.

Cards and receipts

Card payment is compulsory in Paris taxis, and you are entitled to a receipt showing the fare charged. A printed receipt is mandatory for fares of €25 or more.

How long is the queue?

It follows the arrivals board rather than the clock. Waits of 20–40 minutes are routine from 06:00 to 09:00, when the long-haul wave lands at 2E and Terminal 1, and again from 17:00 to 21:00. Midday and after 23:00 are often quiet, though late at night there can be too few cars.

Priority and tips

Passengers with reduced mobility and parents with very young children can ask the marshal for priority. Tipping is not expected; rounding up a euro or two for help with heavy bags is normal and optional.

Terminals

Charles de Gaulle terminals: a guide for people in a hurry

Charles de Gaulle opened in 1974 and handles around 70 million passengers a year. It has three terminals but nine separate buildings, because Terminal 2 is a string of seven halls, 2A to 2G. It behaves less like one airport than three loosely joined ones, and the letter on your boarding pass decides how long everything else takes.

Which terminal will I use?

Your airline decides, not your destination

Air France and its SkyTeam partners use Terminal 2E, 2F and 2G, many Star Alliance carriers use Terminal 1, other European and international airlines are spread across 2A to 2D, and charter and some low-cost flights use Terminal 3.

Every terminal in detail

Terminal 1

What it is
The original terminal, opened in 1974: a round concrete building designed by Paul Andreu, with boarding satellites reached through tunnels under the apron.
Flights
Mostly international and non-Schengen flights, with many Star Alliance carriers such as Lufthansa, United and Turkish Airlines, plus other long-haul airlines.
On arrival
Non-Schengen arrivals clear passport control first, then collect bags. The exit and the taxi rank are on the arrivals level.
Taxi rank
Gate 24, arrivals level.
Your driver
Arrivals hall, near the PAUL bakery.
Good to know
The free CDGVAL train stops here, and Terminal 3 is about 1 km away at Roissypôle.

Terminals 2A and 2C

What they are
Two halls of Terminal 2 used by international airlines, mostly on non-Schengen flights.
On arrival
These halls have been through renovation works, so confirm the hall on your booking on the day.
Taxi rank
Gate 6 at 2A and gate 14 at 2C.
Your driver
2A: by the information desk in the arrivals hall. 2C: arrivals hall, opposite the car rental desks.
Good to know
Halls 2A to 2F are linked on foot, and the CDG 2 TGV station sits between 2C/2D and 2E/2F.

Terminals 2B and 2D

What they are
A connected pair of halls used mostly by European airlines, including easyJet in 2D.
On arrival
Arrivals from inside the Schengen area skip passport control, while flights from outside it, such as the UK, pass through it.
Taxi rank
Gate 7 at 2D, and the arrivals level at 2B.
Your driver
2D: central meeting area in the arrivals hall. For 2B we confirm the exact point with your booking.
Good to know
Airlines do move between halls, so always check the hall on your booking rather than relying on an old one.

Terminal 2E

What it is
The long-haul hall: Air France long-haul and non-Schengen flights plus SkyTeam partners such as Delta, in halls K, L and M, linked airside by the LISA automated train.
On arrival
This is where the longest passport queues form, and the new EES biometric checks add to it. Allow an extra 30–60 minutes at peak.
Taxi rank
Gate 10, arrivals level.
Your driver
Arrivals hall, at the exit of your hall: K, L or M.
Good to know
The YOTEL is airside in 2E and open only to passengers with a 2E boarding pass.

Terminal 2F

What it is
Air France and partner flights within the Schengen area, including KLM.
On arrival
Schengen arrivals have no passport control, so this is usually the quickest hall from aircraft door to car.
Taxi rank
Gate 11, arrivals level.
Your driver
Arrivals hall, ground level.
Good to know
2F is a Schengen hall. If your flight comes from outside the Schengen area, expect Terminal 2E instead.

Terminal 2G

What it is
The smallest hall, standing on its own about 800 m from the rest of Terminal 2, for Air France domestic and short Schengen routes.
On arrival
No passport control for Schengen arrivals, but allow a few extra minutes because of the distance to the road.
Taxi rank
The Blue Gate.
Your driver
Outside the arrivals doors.
Good to know
2G is reached only by a separate short ride from 2E and 2F, so allow about 15 minutes plus waiting if you connect through it.

Terminal 3

What it is
A single compact building at Roissypôle for charter and some low-cost flights. Arrivals are on the north side and departures on the south.
Flights
Both Schengen and non-Schengen flights, so allow for passport control if you land from outside the zone.
Taxi rank
Directly outside the arrivals hall.
Your driver
Arrivals exit, Roissypôle side.
Good to know
About 1 km from Terminal 1, and quick to get out of because it is small.

Airlines move terminals and halls more often than you would think, and published guides do not always agree, so the table lists only the usual allocations. Check your booking or the Paris Aéroport website on the day, and give us your flight number so your driver knows exactly where to be. Connecting between terminals? Allow at least 90 minutes, and two hours if either flight is outside Schengen, because you will pass border control.

Arriving in 2026

Arriving in 2026: biometrics, baggage and realistic timings

The biggest change to arriving at CDG in years is the EU Entry/Exit System, and it directly affects how long you spend between the aircraft door and your car.

The Entry/Exit System (EES)

EES has been fully operational across Schengen since 10 April 2026. If you hold a non-EU passport and are visiting for a short stay, your entries and exits are now recorded digitally instead of stamped. The first time you cross, officers take your passport details, a photo and fingerprints, which adds time. The record lasts three years, and later crossings are much quicker.

In practice

At peak hours the longest passport queues are at 2E. Allow an extra 30–60 minutes, and give us your flight number so your wait is tracked rather than guessed. Nothing is needed in advance. ETIAS, the separate pre-travel authorisation, is due to follow later: use only the official EU website and ignore sites charging fees for it.

Timings are typical estimates for a long-haul arrival and vary with the day, the hall and the number of flights landing together.

Changing airports

Changing airports in Paris

Paris has three passenger airports and a business airport, and none of them are connected airside. Land at one and leave from another and you are crossing or circling a city of twelve million people. The margin you leave decides whether that is a calm afternoon or a missed flight.

Separate tickets, separate risk

If both flights are on one booking, the airline must rebook you when a delay breaks the connection. Booked separately, which is usual when the airports differ, a missed second flight is your problem.

Your bags do not transfer

Collect them, clear customs, then check in again from scratch at the second airport. Arriving from outside Schengen means passing border control at CDG first.

Overnight gaps

Between midnight and 05:00 trains largely stop. A pre-booked car is the one option that does not involve waiting in a terminal until dawn.

Where people go

Where people actually go from CDG

Central Paris is the obvious answer, but a large share of arrivals at Roissy are heading somewhere the flat fare was never designed to cover.

Distance, drive time and what to know for popular destinations from Charles de Gaulle Airport
DestinationDistance and driveWhat to know
Disneyland Paris46 km, 40–60 minA rank taxi leaves the flat-fare zone entirely, so it runs on the meter. A fixed price is usually the better deal.
La Défense38 km, 45–70 minThe business district sits west of Paris, so the drive crosses the whole metropolitan area. Allow considerably more on a Monday morning.
Versailles55 km, 60–80 minPopular as a first stop straight from the airport, with a driver holding the bags while you visit the château.
Reims and Champagne145 km, about 1 h 45A steady request from wine travellers heading to the houses at Épernay and Reims. Day trips with a waiting driver are quoted by the hour.

Trade fairs and the weeks when Roissy gets difficult

CDG sits beside France’s biggest exhibition venues. Paris Nord Villepinte is eight kilometres from the runways and Le Bourget fifteen. When a major show opens, the airport, the Roissypôle hotels and the taxi ranks all feel it the same morning.

What changes during a big show

Rank queues lengthen at 2E and Terminal 1, hotels within ten kilometres fill up, and drop-off points near the venues move behind security perimeters. In those weeks, pre-booking is the only way to be sure of a car.

Dates are set by the organisers, so confirm them before you plan around them.

Layovers

Layovers and what is worth seeing near the airport

A long connection at CDG does not have to be spent under fluorescent light. The rule of thumb in 2026: you need at least five or six hours on the ground before leaving the airport makes sense, because border control now runs in both directions.

Questions

Charles de Gaulle Airport taxi: your questions answered

How much is a taxi from CDG to Paris in 2026?
An official Paris taxi from the rank costs a flat €56 to the Right Bank or €65 to the Left Bank, for up to four passengers, at any hour. A fifth passenger adds up to €5.50. A pre-booked transfer with Global Airport Taxi starts at a fixed €59 per car and is the same for any address.
Can the taxi driver use the meter instead of the flat fare?
No, not for a direct trip between CDG and an address in Paris: the flat fare replaces the meter and is a ceiling, so a driver may charge less but never more. The meter only applies when your destination is outside the Paris city limits.
Is La Défense covered by the CDG flat fare?
No. La Défense is in Puteaux and Courbevoie, outside Paris proper, so a rank taxi runs on the meter. The same goes for Disneyland, Versailles, Saint-Denis and the Roissy hotels. A pre-booked transfer to La Défense is a fixed price from €75 per car.
How do I know if my hotel is on the Right Bank or Left Bank?
Check the postcode. 75001–75004, 75008–75012 and 75016–75020 are Right Bank (€56 from CDG), while 75005–75007 and 75013–75015 are Left Bank (€65). If the postcode does not start with 75, you are outside Paris and the meter applies.
What is the best taxi to Charles de Gaulle Airport for a family?
A pre-booked car or van. The price is fixed, the vehicle is sized for your cases and your driver is already waiting, so there is no queue with children in tow. For two people with light bags in daylight, an official taxi from the rank is fine too.
Where is the taxi rank at Charles de Gaulle?
Every terminal has a marshalled rank on the arrivals level: gate 24 at Terminal 1, gate 6 at 2A, gate 14 at 2C, gate 7 at 2D, gate 10 at 2E, gate 11 at 2F, the Blue Gate at 2G, and just outside the arrivals hall at Terminal 3. Follow the Taxi signs, not people offering rides.
How long is the taxi queue at CDG?
Anywhere from zero to 40 minutes. It is longest from 06:00 to 09:00, when the morning long-haul flights land, and again from 17:00 to 21:00. Midday is usually quiet. A pre-booked driver waits for you instead, so there is no queue.
Is Uber cheaper than a taxi at CDG?
Sometimes, but not reliably. Ride-hailing prices surge in rain, at peak times and during train strikes, and can end up well above the €56 or €65 flat fare. Pickups are from dedicated zones, not the terminal door.
Can I pay for a Paris taxi by card?
Yes. Paris taxis must accept bank cards, and you are entitled to a receipt, printed as standard for fares of €25 or more. With a pre-booked transfer you can pay online in advance, or by card or cash on the day.
Should I tip the driver in Paris?
No, tipping is not expected, because service is included in French prices. Rounding up by a euro or two, or tipping a little more when a driver has handled heavy luggage or waited a long time, is appreciated but entirely optional.
Can a Paris taxi charge extra for luggage?
No. Luggage supplements are not allowed on Paris taxis, including on airport flat fares. The only extras are a booking supplement of €4 or €7 if you booked the taxi, and up to €5.50 for each passenger from the fifth.
Is the flat fare the same at night and on Sundays?
Yes. The flat fare applies in both directions, at any hour, on weekends and on public holidays, because it replaces the pick-up charge and the distance-and-time tariff where night and weekend increases are applied. The only extras are the booking and fifth-passenger supplements.
How long does it take to get from CDG to central Paris by car?
40 to 60 minutes on a normal day. In weekday rush hour, on Friday evenings or when there is an event at the Stade de France, allow up to 90 minutes. The A1 motorway is the main bottleneck.
How much is a taxi from CDG to Disneyland Paris?
Our fixed price starts at €85 for a sedan and €110 for a van, tolls and waiting time included. A rank taxi runs on the meter, because the park is outside the flat-fare zone, so its price depends on traffic.
How do I get from CDG to Orly by car?
It takes 45–60 minutes for about 47 km, up to 90 at peak, and our fixed price starts at €99. Your driver takes you terminal to terminal with no changes. Allow at least five hours between landing and your next departure.
What is the minimum taxi fare outside Paris?
The minimum fare is €8, and beyond that the meter decides the price from distance, time and traffic. The flat fares only link CDG with Paris itself, so a rank taxi to Disneyland, La Défense or Versailles is metered. A pre-booked transfer is a fixed price instead.
Are taxis available at CDG after midnight?
Yes, the ranks operate around the clock, although late at night there can be too few cars. A pre-booked car is the safest option for a late landing: your driver tracks the flight and waits, and the fixed price is the same at night as by day.
How long will my driver wait if my flight is delayed?
No extra charge for delays: we track your flight and plan the pickup around the actual landing time. After touchdown you get 60 minutes of free waiting to clear passport control and collect your bags.
What pickup time should I choose after landing?
Choose your scheduled landing time. We track the real arrival and move the pickup automatically, and 60 minutes of waiting after landing are included, so you do not need to guess a buffer for passport control or baggage.
Can I book a wheelchair-accessible vehicle for CDG?
Yes, on request. Tell us at booking that you need a wheelchair-accessible vehicle, with your flight number and the number of passengers, so we can allocate one in advance. Book ahead rather than relying on finding one at the rank.
Do you provide child seats?
Yes, free of charge. Infant, toddler and booster seats are available on request: give us the children’s ages when you book and we fit the right ones before you arrive.
How early should I arrive at CDG for my flight?
Three hours before long-haul and non-Schengen flights, and two hours for Schengen flights if you are already checked in. In July, August and school holidays, add another 45–60 minutes. Tell us your flight and we plan the pickup backwards from it.
Taxi from Paris to Charles de Gaulle Airport: how do I book it?
Yes, you can book it in advance. Choose Get Quote, enter your Paris hotel or address as the pick-up and Charles de Gaulle Airport as the drop-off, then add your flight number, terminal and departure time. We plan the pickup backwards from your flight, allowing for A1 traffic.
Where do I meet my driver at CDG?
In the arrivals hall of your terminal, where your driver waits with a board showing your name. Before you travel we send the driver’s name, mobile number and the exact meeting point, and the table in the rank section lists the usual spot for each terminal.
Will the EES biometric border check delay my pickup?
Yes, it can. Since 10 April 2026 every non-EU arrival is enrolled biometrically on first entry, which adds time at border control, and 2E is usually the slowest. Your driver tracks your landing, and the 60 minutes of free waiting absorb the queue.
Is it safe to take a taxi at Charles de Gaulle?
Yes, if you use the marked rank or a pre-booked driver. Never accept a ride from someone offering a “taxi” inside the terminal, because licensed drivers are not allowed to solicit there. Pre-booked drivers hold a name board and wait in the arrivals hall.
