Is there a direct train between Orly and Charles de Gaulle?
No. No train links the two airports directly, so by rail you would change in Paris or at Antony. A pre-booked transfer is the direct option, terminal to terminal.

Quick answers
These are the questions travellers ask most before changing airports in Paris.
No. No train links the two airports directly, so by rail you would change in Paris or at Antony. A pre-booked transfer is the direct option, terminal to terminal.
A pre-booked transfer, terminal to terminal in about 45–60 minutes with no changes. By public transport the route is the RER B plus metro line 14 or the Orlyval, about 1 hour 15 minutes according to Paris Aéroport, with luggage and a change on the way, on one Paris Region ↔ Airports ticket (about €14 in 2026).
About 45–60 minutes for roughly 47 km, longer in weekday rush hours (about 7–9 am and 5–8 pm).
No. Flat fares only cover journeys between each airport and Paris itself. Between the airports an official taxi uses the meter, with a minimum fare of €8. For the regulated fares themselves, read Orly taxi prices in 2026.
About 4.5 hours between landing at Orly and a short-haul flight from Charles de Gaulle, and about 5.5 hours before a long-haul flight. That is our planning rule, built from the times on this page, not an airline rule.
Charles de Gaulle operates day and night. Orly has a night curfew from about 23:30 to 06:00 that restricts flights, according to the Paris tourist office.

| Way to go | Time | What you pay | Who it suits | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pre-booked transfer Global Airport Taxi | About 45–60 min by road | Shown in your quote, priced for the vehicle | Luggage, groups, tight connections, late hours | Terminal to terminal: name the Orly terminal you land at and the CDG terminal you need. |
| Official taxi | About 45–60 min by road | By the meter, because neither airport is in Paris itself | Unplanned trips | The minimum fare is €8. The flat fares only link each airport with Paris. |
| The public route | About 1 h 15 in total | About €14 per adult for the whole journey | A single traveller with a small bag and time to spare | The RER B with metro line 14 or the Orlyval, and a change on the way with your luggage. Only RER B trains that go to Aéroport Charles de Gaulle reach the airport. |
The public-route time and ticket are those published by Paris Aéroport and the Paris tourist office. Check RATP before you travel.

Connections
Crossing Paris between two flights takes longer than the journey suggests.
| Situation | Time we suggest | How we built it |
|---|---|---|
| Short-haul flight out of CDG, separate tickets | About 4.5 hours | 1 hour to leave Orly + 1 h 15 to cross + 2 hours before departure, the airline’s usual advice |
| Long-haul flight out of CDG, separate tickets | About 5.5 hours | 1 hour to leave Orly + 1 h 15 to cross + 3 hours before departure |
| Checked bags on the Orly flight and separate tickets | Add 30–60 minutes | You must collect the bags and check them in again at CDG |
| One ticket for the whole trip | Ask your airline | The airline sets the minimum connection time and knows if the airports are linked |

CDG terminals
Your airline, not your destination, decides the terminal, so it matters when you tell us where to meet.
| Terminal | Who mainly uses it | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|
| Terminal 1 | Mostly Star Alliance airlines, in a round building with satellite gates | The oldest terminal, easy to recognise by its shape |
| Terminal 2 (2A to 2G) | Air France and its SkyTeam partners, plus many other airlines across seven halls | 2E, 2F and 2G are Air France halls, easyJet uses 2D, and 2G is a separate building |
| Terminal 3 | Mostly charter and low-cost airlines | A simpler building, separate from the other two |

The other direction
Plenty of travellers fly in to Charles de Gaulle and out of Orly, or the other way round.
Give us the terminal and, for Terminal 2, the hall, such as 2E or 2F, as well as your flight number. CDG is large and its halls are far apart, so the exact meeting place matters more than at Orly.
Orly’s flights start after the night curfew, and metro line 14 does not run before about 05:30. If you land at CDG late and fly from Orly early, a pre-booked transfer is usually the practical choice. Our late-night and early-morning guide has the details.
The distance is the same in both directions, about 47 km. An official taxi again runs on the meter, because the flat fares only link each airport with Paris, while a pre-booked transfer shows its fare before you pay.

Day and night
Details that change the plan.
CDG has terminals 1, 2 (2A to 2G) and 3. Tell us yours when you book. Our Paris Charles de Gaulle taxi page has more on the airport.
Charles de Gaulle runs day and night. Orly has a curfew from about 23:30 to 06:00. A late connection across the city is the strongest case for a pre-booked transfer. See our guide to Orly at night and early in the morning.
Check the second airline’s bag-drop closing time and measure your journey against that, not just against the departure time. The planning figures in this guide already include a margin.

Questions

No train runs directly between the two airports, so the public route takes about an hour and a quarter on the RER B with metro line 14 or the Orlyval, and you carry your luggage through the changes. A pre-booked transfer goes terminal to terminal in about 45 to 60 minutes by road. Give us the number of the flight that lands at Orly, your terminal there and the CDG terminal you need, and Get Quote shows the fare for each vehicle before you pay. If your tickets are separate, leave a generous gap: our planning figure is about 4.5 hours before a short-haul flight and 5.5 before a long-haul one.
