Orly Airport late-night and early-morning transfers

Plan a late landing or an early flight at Paris Orly: what is still running, when the metro starts, and how to book a taxi or transfer with the fixed price shown before you pay.

Quick answers

Orly late-night and early-morning transfers: the short answers

The curfew, the last metro and how to travel at night, in a few lines each.

Is Orly Airport open at night?

Not for flights. A night curfew from about 23:30 to 06:00 restricts flight operations, so Orly is not open 24 hours like Charles de Gaulle, according to the Paris tourist office. The terminals are not open all night either.

How late does public transport run from Orly?

Metro line 14 starts around 05:30, its last trains run a little after midnight (later on Friday and Saturday nights) and the Orlyval stops at about 23:30. After that, a taxi or a pre-booked transfer is the way to travel.

How do I get from Orly in the middle of the night?

Book a transfer in advance, or take an official taxi from the ranks outside arrivals, which operate 24 hours a day according to the Paris tourist office. A transfer is arranged before you land, so there is no queue to join and no price to negotiate.

What does a taxi or transfer from Orly cost at night?

A transfer shows the fare for each vehicle in Get Quote before you pay, whatever the hour. Official taxis charge the regulated airport flat fare between Orly and Paris, set out in our Orly taxi prices guide.

What if my flight is delayed towards midnight?

Give us your flight number when you book and the pickup follows your landing time. What the airport permits close to its curfew is not in our hands, so we cannot promise anything on that point.

How do I get to Orly for a flight before 07:00?

Pre-book a taxi or transfer for the hour you need. Metro line 14 starts too late, so a booked car is the dependable choice. Work backwards from your flight using the table below.

Landing late

What is still running when you land late

Orly flights are restricted from about 23:30 to 06:00, so late landings are mostly in the evening.

Metro hours

When public transport stops: why late arrivals need a car

RATP’s general rule gives the shape of the night.

The network’s closing times

RATP says the metro network generally runs until about 01:15 on Mondays to Thursdays and Sundays, and until about 02:15 on Fridays, Saturdays and the eves of holidays. After that there is no regular service.

Line 14 is earlier than the network

The last train you can catch from Orly on line 14 is earlier than the network closing times and changes by date. Treat the figures above as the outer limit and check RATP for your own day.

Orlyval and tram T7

The Orlyval stops at about 23:30, and tram T7 finishes around half past midnight, so neither helps after a very late landing.

Network hours from RATP; check RATP for the exact last train on line 14.

Last metro

The last metro is a gamble after a late landing

Landing in time is not the same as reaching the platform in time.

Flying early

Early departures: working backwards

Be at the airport about two hours before a short-haul flight and three before a long-haul one, and your airline’s advice comes first.

At night

Taxis and transfers at night

Two dependable ways to travel when the metro has stopped.

Official taxis

Official taxis wait at the terminal exits 24 hours a day. The flat-fare rules in our Orly taxi prices guide apply for journeys to and from Paris.

A pre-booked transfer

You see the fare before you pay and your driver’s details are shared before your journey. Add your flight number and terminal, and for an early flight give us the time you must be at the airport.

Booking tips for night journeys

Book early, give your flight number and terminal, and keep your confirmation email and your phone to hand. If your plans change, call us or message us on WhatsApp.

Why a transfer

Why a pre-booked transfer suits late and early journeys

The night changes what matters: you want certainty, not options.

It is arranged before you travel

You choose the vehicle, see the fare for it and book. Nothing depends on a last train, a timetable or finding a free taxi at a rank.

It follows your flight

Give us your flight number and terminal. For a late landing the pickup follows your landing time, and for an early departure it is planned backwards from the time you must be at the airport.

It is one ride

There are no changes, no stairs and no walking to a stop in the dark with your luggage. The driver’s and the vehicle’s details are shared before your journey, so you know who to look for.

Delays

What to do if your flight is delayed towards the curfew

A delay near midnight changes the plan.

Keep your driver’s details

Our pickups are flight-aware, so the pickup follows your landing time. Keep your confirmation and driver details to hand.

Do not rely on the metro

If you land after about 23:30 the last Orlyval has gone and the last metro is close. A taxi or a pre-booked transfer is the safer choice.

What the airport allows is not ours to promise

The curfew restricts flight operations from about 23:30 to 06:00. How the airport treats a delayed flight near that limit is outside our control, so we cannot promise what will happen, only that we will follow your landing time.

A worked example

A 07:00 flight from Orly: the morning, hour by hour

One early journey, reasoned backwards.

  1. 04:45 or soBe ready at your door. Your driver’s details and the pickup time are in your confirmation.
  2. About 05:00Leave Paris. On quiet early roads the drive is often about 20 to 25 minutes.
  3. About 05:30Arrive at your terminal, around 90 minutes before a short-haul flight. Bag drop, then security.
  4. About 06:15Be through security with time in hand, because gates close well before departure.

Typical early-morning timings. Many airlines advise two hours for short-haul, so some travellers leave earlier than this.

Staying safe

Staying safe on a night journey

A few habits that make a night transfer calmer.

Use only official or pre-booked cars

Official taxis wait at the ranks outside arrivals, and a pre-booked car comes with details you received beforehand. Do not accept a ride from anyone who approaches you in the terminal.

Check before you get in

Match the vehicle and driver to the details you were sent, and for a taxi look for the roof light. If anything feels wrong, step back and call us.

Tell someone

Share your flight, your pickup and your destination with someone who is awake. It takes a minute and is useful if a flight slips.

Questions

Late and early Orly journeys: your questions answered

Can I wait inside Orly Airport overnight?
The terminals are not open all night and the airport has a curfew on flights. Check with Paris Aéroport before you plan to wait there, or arrange a pre-booked pickup so you are not stranded.
Is Charles de Gaulle open at night?
Yes. Charles de Gaulle operates day and night, unlike Orly.
Does the taxi flat fare change at night?
The DGCCRF says the airport flat fare replaces the pick-up charge and the distance-and-time tariff, where night increases are applied. Only the listed supplements may be added.
What is the latest I can book a transfer?
Book as early as you can. For a late or early journey, give your flight number, your terminal and the time you land or fly. If your plans shift, call us or message us on WhatsApp.
What happens to the pickup if I land late?
The pickup is tied to the flight number you give us, so it moves with your landing time. Tell us the number early, especially for an evening flight.
Where do I find official taxis at night?
At the ranks outside arrivals: gate 14a for Orly 1–2, gate 32a for Orly 3 and gate 48a for Orly 4, according to Paris Aéroport.
How do I book a transfer for a very late landing?
Choose Get Quote, enter Orly as the pick-up, your destination, your flight number and your terminal, and see the fare for each vehicle before you pay. The pickup follows your landing time, and your driver’s details reach you before you travel.
What vehicles can I choose for a night journey?
The same fleet as by day: a saloon car for 3 passengers, an estate car for 5, a van for 8, and a minibus or coach for larger groups. Count your bags as well as your passengers.
