Quick answers

Orly taxi prices in 2026: the short answers

The six questions travellers ask most about what a taxi from Orly may cost, answered in a few lines each.

How much is the official taxi fare from Orly to Paris in 2026?

A regulated flat fare of €36 to the Left Bank and €45 to the Right Bank, the same in both directions. They are maximum amounts set by the French order of 24 December 2025 for 2026, and a driver may charge less.

Which extras can be added to the flat fare?

Only a booking supplement (up to €4 for an immediate booking or €7 for a booking made in advance) and up to €5.50 for each passenger from the fifth, according to the consumer authority DGCCRF.

Can a Paris taxi charge extra for luggage?

No. The DGCCRF states that luggage supplements do not exist in Paris and cannot be applied, including on airport flat fares. Charges for vans, large families, bicycles, pets and airport pick-ups are also banned.

Does the flat fare apply outside Paris?

No. It covers journeys between Orly and Paris itself. A ride to Versailles, La Défense or Disneyland Paris is charged by the meter, with a minimum fare of €8.

Must a taxi accept card payment?

Yes. Drivers must accept card payment whatever the amount, and a printed receipt is compulsory for any fare of €25 or more.

Are pre-booked private transfers priced the same way?

No. These regulated rates are for taxis. A pre-booked private transfer is priced for the journey and the vehicle, and with us you see the fare for each vehicle before you pay.

The flat fares

The 2026 flat fares between Orly and Paris

The fares are set by the French state each year. These are the figures for 2026.

Official maximum flat fares for taxis between Paris Orly Airport and Paris in 2026
Zone of ParisMaximum flat fare in 2026Which addresses
Left Bank€36The 5th, 6th, 7th, 13th, 14th and 15th arrondissements
Right Bank€45The other arrondissements

These are maximums, not fixed prices

The DGCCRF is clear that regulated taxi rates are maximum tariffs, not compulsory ones, and that drivers can offer discounts. The Orly flat fares are the ceiling for the whole ride, whatever the traffic.

Both directions, Paris only

The same flat fare applies from Paris to Orly and from Orly to Paris. It applies to addresses inside Paris. A journey to the suburbs or to places such as Versailles is charged by the meter.

One fare per ride

The regulation says a single flat fare is applied to one ride, even with several passengers. Extra passengers only add a supplement from the fifth person.

Extras

What can be added to the flat fare, and what cannot

Four small supplements are allowed. A long list of other charges is banned.

Maximum supplements allowed on a Paris airport flat fare, with when each applies
SupplementMaximum amountWhen it applies
Immediate booking€4You book the taxi and it comes to you straight away
Booking in advance€7You book the taxi ahead of time
Additional passengers€5.50 eachFor each passenger from the fifth, adults or children

Why the booking supplement exists

In Paris a booking supplement replaces the old practice of charging you for the taxi’s trip to reach you. The DGCCRF says that approach charge is strictly forbidden, so if you book, the only extra for the taxi coming to you is the booking supplement.

What this means in practice

If you take a taxi from the rank at the terminal you pay the flat fare and nothing for booking. If you book a taxi in advance from your Paris address to Orly, add up to €7.

Worked examples

What it costs in practice: seven scenarios

Our own arithmetic, using only the official maximum amounts, so you can compare a taxi with the metro.

Maximum official taxi cost for different groups, compared with the metro line 14 airport ticket
ScenarioMaximum taxi costPer personMetro line 14 airport ticket, per adult
1 adult, Left Bank, from the taxi rank€36€36€14
3 adults, Left Bank, from the taxi rank€36€12€14
3 adults, Right Bank, from the taxi rank€45€15€14
4 adults, Right Bank, from the taxi rank€45€11.25€14
4 adults, Left Bank, booked in advance€43 (€36 + €7)€10.75€14
4 adults, Right Bank, booked in advance€52 (€45 + €7)€13€14
6 passengers, Right Bank, booked in advance, in a larger taxi€63 (€45 + €7 + 2 × €5.50)€10.50€14

Where the taxi starts to beat the metro on price

From the rank, the Left Bank flat fare of €36 is cheaper per person than the €14 airport ticket once three adults share it (€12 each). The Right Bank fare of €45 needs four adults (€11.25 each). Book the taxi in advance and you need four adults for the Left Bank (€10.75 each) and four for the Right Bank (€13 each).

What these numbers leave out

The metro is much cheaper for one traveller and is also fast, but it means stairs, a crowd and your own luggage. The examples show the maximum, a driver can charge less, and tips are never required. A pre-booked private transfer is a different product: its price is for the whole vehicle, shown in your quote.

Your rights

Paying, receipts and complaints

The rules that protect you at the end of the ride.

Card payment is a right

Every taxi must carry a visible, working card terminal and the driver must accept a card payment whatever the amount. A driver may refuse cheques, but must say so on the outside window.

The receipt is part of the price

A printed receipt is compulsory for fares of €25 or more and must be given on request below that. For an airport flat fare it must state the flat fare and each supplement by name. If a supplement appears that is not on the list above, ask about it before you pay.

If something goes wrong

Raise it with the taxi company first. For Paris taxis you can also report it to the Préfecture de Police through its online form. For a problem with the price the DGCCRF also recommends reporting on SignalConso. Keep the receipt and note the licence plate, the radio code on the rear window and the driver’s professional card number.

Questions

Orly taxi prices: your questions answered

Is the Orly taxi fare really fixed?
It is a flat fare with a ceiling. For journeys between Orly and Paris the fare is set in advance by regulation and replaces the meter, but it is a maximum, so a driver may offer a discount. It does not apply to journeys that end outside Paris.
Is there a night or Sunday surcharge on the Orly flat fare?
The DGCCRF explains that the airport flat fare replaces the pick-up charge and the distance-and-time tariff, which is where night, rush-hour and weekend increases are applied. The only extras it lists are the booking supplements and the charge from the fifth passenger.
Do I pay extra for luggage at Orly?
No. The DGCCRF says luggage supplements are not allowed on Paris taxis, including on airport flat fares, and that charges for “van”, “large family”, “bicycle”, “animal” or “airport or station pick-up” are also banned.
Who pays the tolls?
Under the general rule explained by the DGCCRF, the taxi bears the cost of tolls and may choose a route without tolls. If you ask for a toll route, you pay the tolls in addition to the fare.
Can the driver refuse a card payment?
No. Taxi drivers must accept card payment whatever the amount and must have a working card terminal that you can see.
Do I get a receipt?
A printed receipt is compulsory for fares of €25 or more and available on request below that. For an airport flat fare it must show the flat fare and any supplements by name. Keep it in case you need to make a complaint.
How do I complain about an overcharge?
Start with the taxi company or driver. For Paris taxis you can then report to the Préfecture de Police using its online form, and for price problems also on the government’s SignalConso site. Give the plate number, the driver’s professional card number and your receipt.
Are these rates the same for private transfers?
No. They apply to taxis. A pre-booked private transfer is priced for the journey and vehicle. With Global Airport Taxi you see the fare for each vehicle before you pay and there is no meter.

See your Orly transfer fare before you pay

The official taxi flat fare is a ceiling set by the state, and a pre-booked transfer works differently. Enter your pick-up and drop-off in Get Quote and you see a fare for each vehicle before you pay, priced for the whole vehicle rather than per person, with airport charges shown in the quote. No meter runs while you sit in traffic and nothing changes at the kerb. Put the figure next to the taxi and metro numbers on this page, then decide: for a group or a lot of luggage the answer is often one vehicle instead of several tickets. A confirmation email follows your booking and our team confirms your journey.
