Quick answers

Paris to Orly Airport taxi: the short answers

Fares, timing and drop-off for the journey out to Orly.

How much is an official taxi from Paris to Orly?

The regulated flat fare is up to €36 from the Left Bank and €45 from the Right Bank in 2026. Booking a taxi in advance can add up to €7, an immediate booking up to €4, and each passenger from the fifth up to €5.50. See our Orly taxi prices guide.

How long does a taxi from Paris to Orly take?

Usually 25–45 minutes, depending on the neighbourhood and traffic. In weekday rush hours (about 7–9 am and 5–8 pm) allow up to 55 minutes.

How early should I leave Paris for my flight?

Work backwards: your airline’s advised arrival time (about two hours before a short-haul flight and three before a long-haul one), the journey, then a buffer of 15 minutes or more. The table below gives five examples.

Where will I be dropped off at Orly?

At the departures entrance of your terminal. Orly has four terminals, so tell the driver which one: your ticket or airline app shows it.

Why take a taxi or transfer rather than the metro?

It is door to door in about 25–45 minutes, with no stairs, no changes and no airport ticket to buy, and it runs at any hour. Metro line 14 takes about 25 minutes from Châtelet on a special airport ticket, but its trains only start around 05:30.

What if my flight is before 07:00?

Early flights are what a pre-booked transfer is for: the pickup is planned backwards from your departure, whatever the hour. Metro line 14 has not started by then, so book the night before.

Timing

Work backwards: when to leave Paris

The formula is your flight time, minus the airline’s advised arrival time, minus the journey, minus a buffer.

How early is early enough? Airline advice by type of flight

Before you go

A departure-day checklist

Small things that save the journey from going wrong.

The night before

Check in online if your airline allows it, and note your terminal and the time you need to be at the airport. Put your flight number, terminal and pickup address in your booking.

On the morning

Be ready outside a few minutes before the pickup time, with your passport or ID, boarding pass and any child seats you asked for. Keep your phone on and charged, because we may contact you.

If you are late

Call or message us at once. A flight-aware pickup is planned around your flight number, but the journey itself cannot be shortened, so a late start eats the buffer.

At Orly

Drop-off at the right terminal

Orly has four terminals, so the right entrance saves a long walk.

Name the terminal

Put the terminal in your booking. If you are unsure, your ticket or airline app shows it, and your flight number is enough for us to work it out.

Terminals are linked

If you are dropped at the wrong terminal, the four terminals are linked and you can walk between them in about 10 minutes.

Leaving for Orly from your hotel

Be outside a few minutes before the pick-up time. Our team shares your driver’s details before you travel.

Luggage and groups

Cases, children and groups on the way to Orly

The vehicle should be chosen for your bags, not just your passengers.

Luggage

Paris taxis may not add a luggage charge to the airport flat fare, but the car still has limited space. Our saloon car takes 3 passengers and 3 bags, the estate car 5 and 4, and the van 8 and 7. Count golf bags, skis and pushchairs as bags.

Children

You can ask for child seats when you book. Say how many children are travelling and how old they are.

Larger groups

For eight or more people, a van, an 8-seater minibus or a 16-seater minicoach keeps everyone in one vehicle and one pickup. Group sizes beyond that can use a 30-seater or 50-seater coach.

Questions

Paris to Orly: your questions answered

Can I hail a taxi in Paris to go to Orly?
Yes. Official Paris taxis wait at stands across the city, and the flat fare applies for the journey to Orly. You can also book one in advance, which can add a booking supplement of up to €7.
Is the flat fare the same whichever terminal I go to?
Yes. The flat fare covers the ride between Paris and the airport, whichever terminal you choose, and a driver may not add a luggage charge.
Can the taxi driver add a charge for my suitcases?
No. The DGCCRF says luggage supplements are not allowed on Paris taxis, including on airport flat fares.
Which terminal should I tell the driver?
The one on your ticket. Terminals 1, 2 and 3 are used mainly by major European airlines and terminal 4 mainly by low-cost and non-European airlines, but airlines move between terminals, so always check your own ticket.
How early is early enough for Orly?
Airlines usually advise about two hours before a short-haul flight and three before a long-haul one. Check your airline’s own advice and add the journey and a buffer.
Can I book a taxi from my Paris hotel?
Yes. Enter your hotel as the pick-up and Paris Orly Airport as the drop-off in Get Quote and see the fare for each vehicle before you pay.
Can I bring a baby or toddler seat to the transfer?
You can ask us to supply a child seat when you book, and you should say how many children are travelling so the right ones are fitted before you set off.
What should I tell you when I book an early flight?
Give your flight number, your terminal and the time you want to be at the airport, then add your Paris address. That lets us plan the pickup backwards from your departure.
Can I book the journey back from Orly at the same time?
Yes. You can book the return journey as well, and give the flight number of the flight that brings you home so the pickup follows your landing time.
Is the flat fare available from the Paris suburbs?
No. The official flat fare covers journeys between Orly and Paris itself. From a suburb the meter applies, and with a pre-booked transfer you see the fare before you pay.
How long does the transfer take from my hotel?
Usually 25 to 45 minutes by road, depending on the district and the traffic, and up to about 55 minutes in rush hour. Our table above gives typical times for six central districts.
Does the flat fare change if I have a lot of luggage?
No. The DGCCRF says luggage supplements cannot be added to Paris taxi fares, including airport flat fares. What does change is whether the car is big enough, so check the capacity.
Is it safe to rely on hailing a taxi before dawn?
Official taxis operate at all hours, but before dawn and in bad weather there are fewer free cars. If your flight is early, book a car the day before and leave the street hailing as a back-up.
Should I leave earlier on a Sunday evening or after a holiday?
Yes. Roads out of Paris and into the airport area are often busier after weekends and holidays, so add time. Do not trim your buffer on those days.
