Transfers to every corner of the island

Ibiza Airport is the island's only airport, 7 km southwest of Ibiza Town, so every holiday here starts with the same journey. Here's what to expect on the most-booked routes.

10 MIN

Closest resort

beach_access

Taxi to Playa d'en Bossa

The island's longest beach and home of Ushuaia and H'iIbiza sits practically next door to the runway. The shortest, cheapest transfer on the island — you can be checking in before your friends have cleared the taxi queue.

15 MIN

Taxi to Ibiza Town (Eivissa)

Fifteen minutes to Dalt Vila's walled old town, the marina, Pacha and the Formentera ferries. We drop you at your hotel door or the port terminal — tell us your sailing time and we'll build in the margin.

30–35 MIN

West coast

nights_stay

Taxi to San Antonio

Sunset Strip, Café del Mar and the West End are a cross-island drive away. The airport bus takes about an hour with stops; a direct taxi roughly halves that, which matters after a delayed flight.

25 MIN

East coast

forest

Taxi to Santa Eulalia

The island's calm, family side — marina restaurants, a palm-lined promenade and quieter beaches. Popular with couples and families, and an easy 25-minute drive on the new dual carriageway.

Calas & Villa transfers

Cala Tarida, Cala Comte, Cala Vadella, Es Canar, Portinatx and hundreds of hillside villas — places rank taxis sometimes hesitate to take. Send us a pin or the villa name and your driver arrives pre-briefed.

Rules, queues, flights & costs

The questions our passengers ask most, answered plainly — so the only surprise on arrival is how good the sea looks from the descent.

01

What can passengers take inside the airport?

Ibiza Airport applies standard EU aviation security rules. Through the security checkpoint you may carry:

  • check_circle Liquids, gels & aerosols in containers of 100 ml or less, all fitting inside one transparent, resealable 1-litre bag (sunscreen counts — buy the big bottle on the island).
  • check_circle Electronics — laptops, tablets and cameras are fine; place them in a separate tray unless staff say otherwise. Power banks and spare lithium batteries must travel in hand luggage, never in the hold.
  • check_circle Medication and baby food above 100 ml, declared at the checkpoint (carry a prescription for liquids and injectables).
  • check_circle One lighter carried on your person; e-cigarettes in the cabin only, not used on board.
  • check_circle Duty-free purchases sealed in the tamper-evident bag with receipt if you connect onwards.
warning Not allowed: knives and blades over 6 cm, tools, sports bats, self-defence sprays, fireworks and party pyrotechnics, and drinks over 100 ml. Alcohol between 24–70% is limited to 5 L per person in checked bags. Departing tip: leave the beach spade and full water bottle in your suitcase. Rules are set by AENA and EU regulations and can change — check your airline’s list before flying with anything unusual.
02

How long does immigration take?

It depends entirely on your passport and your landing slot:

  • check_circle
EU / Schengen arrivals (Madrid, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Milan...): often no passport check at all, or a 5–15 minute e-gate formality.
  • warning
Non-EU arrivals, including the UK: Ibiza now runs the EU Entry/Exit System (EES). First-time visitors register fingerprints and a facial photo at kiosks; return visitors are simply verified. Quiet periods clear in 20–45 minutes, but summer peaks — when several UK flights land together — have produced waits of 1–2 hours or more.
info
Busiest windows are mid-morning and early evening. Friday to Monday, June through September. Have your passport ready, follow the EES signage, and children from age six also give biometrics. Why this matters for your taxi: we track the flight and our drivers wait free for 60 minutes after landing (longer by arrangement), so an immigration queue never costs you your car. Departing passengers: arrive 2 hours early in summer, 2.5–3 hours for non-Schengen flights during the peak.
03

Which flights and airlines use Ibiza Airport?

IBZ is the only commercial airport serving Ibiza and Formentera — a single terminal, one runway, 17 gates, open around the clock in summer. Year-round domestic links connect Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia and Palma; from April to October the schedule explodes with direct routes from over 25 countries.

Ryanair easyJet Jet2 Vueling Iberia Air Europa British Airways TUI Airways Lufthansa Eurowings Transavia KLM ITA Airways SWISS Wizz Air

The heaviest traffic comes from the UK (London, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, Glasgow...), Italy, Germany, France and the Netherlands, alongside dozens of daily Spanish domestic rotations. On peak Saturdays the airport handles well over 500 movements — which is exactly why the taxi rank queues and why pre-booking pays off.

There are no scheduled long-haul flights; travellers from the Americas, Asia or the Gulf connect via Madrid, Barcelona or a major European hub.

04

Is Ibiza an expensive airport?

Honestly: the airport itself is mid-priced by European standards, but Ibiza’s reputation makes people expect the worst — so here’s the real picture.

  • check_circle Getting away is cheap-to-fair. Taxi fares are government-regulated (a 10-minute ride to Playa d’en Bossa is barely €12–15) and the bus is about €4. This is far cheaper than airport transfers in Paris, London or Rome.
  • warning Food & drink inside carry a typical airport markup — expect around €3–4 for a coffee and €8–14 for a sandwich or menu item. Eat in town if you can.
  • info Parking in the express and general car parks is reasonable for short stays but adds up over a week, which is why most visitors don’t rent until they need to.
  • info The island, not the airport, is the budget risk — club tickets, beach clubs and peak-season dinners are where Ibiza earns its price tag.
verified
Verdict: budget travellers can land and reach their bed for under €5 by bus; comfort travellers get a fixed-price private car for less than a round of drinks at a beach club. The airport won’t be what breaks your budget.

quiz Ibiza Airport Taxi FAQ

Questions travellers ask before landing

Everything you need to know about your Ibiza Airport transfer.

How much is a taxi from Ibiza Airport to Ibiza Town? expand_more
A standard 4-seat taxi from Ibiza Airport (IBZ) to Ibiza Town (Eivissa) typically costs €110–120 during the day and same at night on the meter. With Global Airport Taxi, you get a fixed price upfront with no surprises — covering tolls, luggage, and night surcharges.
How much is a taxi from Ibiza Airport to San Antonio? expand_more
A taxi to San Antonio costs €90–100 during the day and €90–100 at night. The drive takes about 30–35 minutes. Our pre-booked transfers lock in the day rate regardless of traffic or time of landing, so you always know what you're paying.
Where is the official taxi rank, and are the taxis safe? expand_more
The official taxi rank is directly outside the arrivals terminal. All rank taxis are licensed and regulated by the Consell Insular d'Eivissa, so they are perfectly safe. However, queues can be very long in summer (up to 40+ minutes). Pre-booking with Global Airport Taxi means your driver is already waiting for you with a name board, skipping the queue entirely.
Where will my Global Airport Taxi driver meet me? expand_more
Your driver will be waiting in the arrivals hall (just past baggage claim) holding a personalized name board. They will assist you with your luggage and escort you directly to your waiting vehicle. No searching for a rank or stressing about directions.
How long does immigration and baggage take — will my driver wait? expand_more
Yes! We track your flight in real-time from departure. Your driver monitors your landing time and waits for you free of charge for 60 minutes after landing. If immigration or baggage takes longer than expected, just let us know and we'll hold the driver longer at no extra cost.
Is Uber cheaper than a taxi at Ibiza Airport? expand_more
Not necessarily. While Uber is available, it often uses surge pricing during peak hours, which can exceed the official taxi meter rates. With Global Airport Taxi, the price is locked in before you book — so you avoid surge pricing, and we offer fixed rates that are usually comparable or better than a metered taxi.
Do you have minibuses for groups and club trips? expand_more
Absolutely. We offer 8-seater minibuses perfect for groups of friends, families, or club trips with lots of luggage. We also have luxury and VIP vehicle options. Simply choose the vehicle that fits your group size when booking, and we'll handle the rest.
Can I pay by card, and is the price really fixed? expand_more
Yes, you can pay securely online in advance with Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, or Google Pay. You can also pay by card in the car. And yes, the price is completely fixed. We confirm your quote before you pay — no hidden extras, no meter, no surprises.
What happens if my flight is delayed or cancelled? expand_more
We monitor all flights in real-time. If your flight is delayed, we automatically adjust your pickup time to match the new arrival. If your flight is cancelled, we offer a 100% free cancellation up to 24 hours before pickup, and we'll work with you to rebook for your new travel date.
Do you cover late-night and closing-time pickups? expand_more
Yes, we operate 24/7, 365 days a year. Whether you have a late-night arrival, an early morning departure, or a closing-time pickup from a club, we have drivers available. We can also arrange return transfers to the airport at any hour.
