It depends on the destination. On the 2026 meter tariff a rank taxi is about €11–12 to Playa d’en Bossa, €15–17 to Ibiza Town and €31–37 to San Antonio by day. Our pre-booked transfer is typically €65–75 to Ibiza Town, fixed when you book.
About 7 km, or 15–20 minutes by car. The airport is in the south of the island, in the municipality of Sant Josep de sa Talaia. San Antonio and Santa Eulalia are about 21–22 km, 25–35 minutes.
At the rank outside the Arrivals exit. Aena advises taking a taxi only from the signed rank. A pre-booked driver instead waits at the Arrivals meeting point with a name board.

The Consell d’Eivissa sets the tariff. The new one was published on 29 September 2026. Here it is next to the old one.

Rank taxis charge flag-fall, the airport supplement and the kilometre rate, and the day rate applies on weekdays between 07:00 and 21:00. The figure on the meter depends on the distance, the traffic and any waiting, so any table is a guide, including this one.
The new fares apply only after each taxi’s meter has been verified and sealed, so until then a taxi can legally keep charging the 2025 tariff, which is about 8 per cent lower.
The rank suits one or two people with cabin bags arriving in daylight. A fixed fare suits families, groups with large cases, late arrivals and villa journeys, where the meter and the queue are the unknowns.

The bus
Ibiza has no train or metro, but it does have five airport bus lines, and they are the cheapest way to leave the airport.
From April 2026 the island’s buses are run by Alsa, and five airport lines, AERO1 to AERO5, serve Ibiza Airport. AERO3 is the express to Ibiza Town and the port. AERO1 goes to San Antonio, AERO4 to Santa Eulalia and Es Canar, and AERO5 to Playa d’en Bossa.
The lines serve the main resorts, not every cala or villa, and most do not run after midnight. For a very late arrival, a villa or a group with luggage, a taxi or a pre-booked transfer is the reliable option.

Routes are from Aena and fares from Alsa Ibiza. AERO2 and AERO3 fares are not on the Alsa airport-line table, so check them with the operator.
Arriving
Ibiza has a single terminal, small and easy to read. Here is what happens between touchdown and your seat in the car, and how the rank works if you have not booked.
If you have not pre-booked, the official taxi rank is outside the Arrivals exit, and the terminal is small, so it is easy to find.
Aena says the airport has a permanent fleet of 69 taxis, three of them adapted for passengers with disabilities, and 70 more from June to September; for an adapted taxi that is not at the rank, call Radio Taxi de San José on +34 971 800 080. Licensed taxis in Ibiza are white with a diagonal coloured stripe across the door, and the licence number is displayed inside. Check that the meter starts at the flag-fall before you pull away, and ask for a receipt.
Many rank taxis take cards, but not every machine works, so carry some euros as a fallback.
English is not guaranteed with rank drivers. Have your address written down, in Spanish.
Luggage within the vehicle’s capacity is not a separate line in the tariff, and a standard taxi carries up to four passengers.
Timings are typical. They change with the day, the number of flights landing together and the border queue. Aena’s own advice is to take a taxi only from the signed rank. Unlicensed “pirate” taxis operate on the island, which is why a name board and a confirmation matter.
Border checks
Border policy has changed, and it is the part of arrival that nobody can predict. This is what applies to you, and what it means for your transfer.
EES has been fully operational across the Schengen area since 10 April 2026. If you hold a non-EU passport and are visiting for a short stay, your first entry includes a facial image and four fingerprints at a kiosk, and the record replaces the passport stamp.
EU and EFTA nationals, and non-EU nationals with a valid residence permit for an EU country, are not enrolled. Children under 12 do not give fingerprints.
Visa-exempt visitors may stay up to 90 days in any rolling 180-day period across the Schengen area, and the system now counts the days automatically.

Formentera
Formentera is reached by ferry from Ibiza Port, so the airport transfer is the first of two legs.
Formentera has no commercial airport. Visitors fly into Ibiza Airport, go to Ibiza Port and take a ferry to La Savina on Formentera, a crossing of about half an hour.
Ibiza Port is about 8 km from the airport, 15–20 minutes by car. Our private transfer to the port is typically €65–75 per car, and the AERO3 express bus also stops there.
Buy the ferry ticket separately and give us the sailing time. We time the pickup against it, allowing for baggage and border control, and we can book the return from the port for the flight home.
Ferry times and operators change with the season, so check the current timetable before you buy a ticket. The AERO3 bus stops at the port, per Aena.
The season
Ibiza runs on a season, and the airport changes with it.

Groups and luggage
The most common booking mistake at an airport is a car for four adults with four large suitcases. Four people fit. Four people and four large cases do not.

What is included
Every extra that a meter or an app might add is covered in the fare you are quoted. The conditions behind each line are in our terms and in your confirmation.
Your driver waits at the arrivals meeting point holding a name board, and helps with the luggage.
We track your inbound flight, so a delay simply moves the pickup to the new landing time.
For airport arrivals the first 60 minutes after landing cost nothing, enough for the border and the carousel (see your booking terms).
The fare is agreed at booking, for the vehicle and not per person. VAT and any airport charges are itemised in your booking summary.
Baby, toddler and booster seats on request. In Spain a seat is needed for children under 135 cm, with a narrow exemption for taxis on urban journeys, so ask for one.
A licensed driver carries out every journey, and your confirmation names the driver and the car.

It is the field that matters most. We follow the real landing time, so a late arrival or an early one changes nothing for you.
Before pickup you receive the driver’s name, mobile number and the meeting point. Keep your phone on when you switch off flight mode.
Border control and baggage can take longer than planned, and up to 60 minutes of waiting after landing are included for airport arrivals. If you are held longer, message the driver.
You pay securely online when you book, and your confirmation is emailed once the payment is processed. The fare on it is the fare you pay.
