Opened in January 2019 to replace the old San Javier military base, RMU is one of Spain's newest airports — modern, compact and easy to navigate. Here is the essential briefing before you land.

Between Corvera, Valladolises and Los Martínez del Puerto — 25 km south of Murcia city, 35 km from Cartagena.

Is there a train from Murcia Airport to the city?
No. Región de Murcia International Airport has no rail connection. There is no metro, tram or commuter rail serving RMU. The AVE high-speed station promised in the airport's original plans has not been built. Only licensed Murcia taxis can collect at RMU
Only taxis registered in the Murcia municipality are legally permitted to pick up passengers from Región de Murcia International Airport. If someone approaches you in the Arrivals area offering a "private taxi" without a booking confirmation, do not accept. The official rank is directly outside Level 0 Arrivals.
Airport surcharge of €3.60 applies to metered taxis
Rank taxis at RMU add a €3.60 airport supplement on top of the metered fare. Night tariffs apply between 22:00 and 07:00, adding further to the total. A pre-booked fixed-price transfer has none of these additions — the price you see at booking is the price you pay.
Child seat law in Spain (DGT regulations)
Spanish law requires approved child restraints for children under 135 cm. The urban taxi exemption does not cover longer rural journeys to La Manga, Mazarrón or Lorca. Rank taxis rarely carry child seats. Our private transfers provide the correct seat free of charge — add it at booking.

Your driver tracks your flight in real time. If your Ryanair or easyJet service is running late, they adjust their arrival at the airport accordingly — you will not be charged extra waiting time. We provide 60 minutes of free waiting after landing, and our fixed price never changes due to flight disruptions.
