Taxi Transfers from Lanzarote Airport

An arrival is the simpler of the two directions, because the flight number does the thinking. Give us the one you are landing on and the booking follows the aircraft rather than the time you typed in; a flight that lands forty minutes early does not leave you with a driver who is not due yet, and one that lands late does not leave you with a driver who has gone.

The drop-off is a door, not a town. Hotel name and street for a hotel; block, floor and door number for an apartment; the urbanisation and plot for a villa. On this island a great many apartment complexes share a street and a first word, and the difference between the right address and nearly the right address is a driver on a telephone outside a gate.

For a departure the arithmetic runs the other way and we do it. Give the address you are leaving, the flight you are catching and the date, and the pick-up time is worked back from the departure rather than guessed at. Early-morning departures are ordinary here, and an early-morning booking is worth making further ahead than a daytime one — not because of traffic but because the vehicle has to be held.

What you are paying for is not really the drive. The drive is the easy part on an island this size. What you are paying for is a vehicle taken out of circulation and held against your name, from a time we work out ourselves against an aircraft we are watching.

That is also why the flight number matters more than the clock does. A car held for 14:00 is no use to anybody if the aeroplane lands at 13:10, and a car released at 14:30 is no use at all if it lands at 15:00.

What the Form Will and Will Not Do

It is the same form that books an airport taxi anywhere we operate, so if you have used it for a mainland airport you already know it. It will quote a fixed figure for the vehicle, take a child seat, take a second stop, and take a return in the same booking.

It will not haggle, and it will not quote on a town name with no address behind it. If your pick-up is somewhere unusual — a finca up a track, a boat in a marina, a wedding venue — put it in anyway. You will get a quote or an honest no, and both are more use than a maybe.

Official Airport Taxi Fares vs Private Transfer Quotes

These are two different products and it is worth being plain about which is which. A taxi from the rank is a public service on a regulated meter: you join the queue, the meter runs, and the fare is whatever the tariff makes it on the day. A pre-booked private transfer is a contract made before you travel: a named vehicle, a figure agreed in advance, and a driver who is already watching your flight.

Neither is automatically cheaper, and anybody telling you otherwise is selling something. On a short hop the rank is often the cheaper of the two. On a longer run with a family and luggage, a fixed price for one vehicle usually wins — and it is the only one of the two you can know the cost of before you fly.

The Regulated Tariff the Rank Runs On

Aena publishes the tariff for taxis at this airport on its own page, so we can show you what the rank is built from rather than guessing at it. Read the table as the shape of a metered fare, not as a quote: a minimum, a rate per kilometre, and a supplement for starting or ending at the airport.

Aena publishes this table on its own airport page and attributes it to the Canary Islands official bulletin of 24 March 2023. That citation is three and a half years old and no later revision was found, so treat the figures as the last ones Aena published rather than as today’s. The meter in the car is what binds.

The Christmas tariff applies on 24 and 31 December and on 5 January, between 22:00 and midnight.

What Affects Your Lanzarote Airport Transfer Price

Four things move a quote, in roughly this order of weight.

Where you are going

The largest factor by far. Parts of this island are twenty minutes from the terminal and parts of it are the better part of an hour.

Which vehicle

A van is priced above a saloon because it is a bigger vehicle, not because there are more of you in it.

When

Night and very early morning work costs more to staff, and a public holiday more again.

What else you have asked for

A second pick-up address, an extra stop, a long wait between a ferry and a flight. All priced at booking, none of it at the kerb.

In short Which terminal you land at depends on where you flew from: two passenger terminals. Aena puts it plainly: T1 takes international flights and mainland Spanish flights, and T2 takes inter-island flights. Arrivals are on floor 0 in both, and Aena publishes one rank at each terminal, both outside arrivals on floor 0. Your pre-booked driver is not at the rank. They are inside, with a board, where your confirmation says to look.

Which Terminal You Will Land At

Aena divides the airport by where the flight came from rather than by airline. International flights and mainland Spanish flights use T1. Inter-island flights — the hops from Tenerife, Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura — use T2, which is the smaller, single-level building.

That distinction matters to your booking for one reason: the two terminals have separate arrivals and separate ranks, so the terminal is part of the meeting instructions. Your flight number tells us which one you are coming into, which is one more thing the number does that the clock cannot.

Seven Belts in One Terminal, and What That Means for You

Aena publishes seven reclaim belts in T1 — five for flights from the EU, one for international flights and one for outsize baggage — and a single belt in T2. A hall with seven belts does not empty passengers through one door at one moment, which is why your driver confirms the meeting point against your actual flight rather than assuming you will appear where the last passenger did.

Taxi Pickup at Terminal 1

T1 is the larger building and the one most arriving visitors use. Arrivals are on floor 0 and the rank is outside it. If you have not booked anything, the rank is the right thing to join; it is a public service on a regulated meter and it is there around the clock that the airport is open. If you have booked with us, walk past it — your driver is inside.

Taxi Pickup at Terminal 2

T2 is the inter-island terminal, a single level, and it has its own arrivals and its own rank on floor 0. Travellers often assume one airport means one arrivals door; here it does not, and a party that lands at T2 and waits at T1 is a party waiting in the wrong building. Give us the flight number and the terminal takes care of itself.

Meeting Your Pre-Booked Driver

Your confirmation carries the meeting point and a telephone number. The driver waits inside the arrivals area of the terminal you actually land at, holding a board with the lead passenger’s surname. That is an arrangement we make with you, not a position at the rank — the rank is for taxis.

The test of a genuine pre-booked driver is simple and it works at the kerb: they hold the booking. Your surname and the flight you arrived on are both written on their job sheet, and they can show you. Someone with neither has no booking with us, however convincing the board looks.

Flight Delays, Waiting Times and Pickup Changes

We ask for the flight number so the driver works from when the aircraft actually lands rather than from the time you typed into a form. Early or late, the booking moves with the flight. What is included in waiting, and what applies beyond it, is set out on your booking confirmation — and that document is the one that governs your booking, not anything written here.

If something changes at your end, tell us in writing as early as you can. A change made the night before is an administrative matter. The same change made at the kerb is a different conversation.

If You Cannot Find Your Driver

Three explanations cover nearly all of it: the aircraft beat its schedule, you emerged from a door neither of you expected, or a handset is dead. Before anything else, ring the number printed on your confirmation. Stay in the building and do not flag down an alternative — a driver standing at the far end of a hall is a two-minute problem, whereas a journey you walked away from is recorded as one you cancelled.

Getting There Without Us

We would rather be the useful page than the only page. Aena publishes five bus lines serving this airport, all of them stopping at both terminals on floor 0. For a solo traveller going into the capital they are a sensible choice and we are not going to pretend otherwise.

Aena publishes no bus line serving Costa Teguise from this airport, and publishes no bus fares for it either, so none is quoted here. The island operator’s own site is the authority on timetables and prices.

In short Every place on the fare list has a card below. Each carries the municipality where a public body publishes one and the fixed price we publish ourselves. What no card carries is a distance or a journey time, because no Spanish or Canarian public body publishes a distance or a journey time from this airport to any resort on the island — and we would rather leave a gap than fill it with a number off a mapping site.

Treat a published list as a guide and the quote as the agreement. Only one of the two is a promise and it is not this one.

The Three Roads That Are Officially Named

For the sake of completeness, here is what the regional roads programme actually names. The LZ-4, which the regional roads programme names as the airport to Puerto del Carmen road. The LZ-2, whose named airport section runs towards Arrecife. And the LZ-3, the Arrecife ring road runs round the capital. Everything else on this island gets you there perfectly well; it simply is not written down anywhere we could cite.

A common assumption worth correcting: the airport road to Puerto del Carmen is the LZ-4, not the LZ-2. The LZ-2’s named airport section heads the other way, towards Arrecife.

If Your Destination Is Not on the List

Put it in the form anyway. The list is the places we publish a price for, not the places we go. Fincas, villas up tracks, wedding venues, the ferry terminals and the hospital are all ordinary bookings, and you will get either a quote or an honest no rather than silence.

Check a Destination

In short A resort name is not an address. Lanzarote’s resorts are built as long strips of similarly named complexes along the same handful of roads, and a villa may be up a track with no sign on it. Give the property name, the street and the number, and a gate code if there is one, and the driver arrives at the door rather than somewhere near it.

Hotels and Apartment Complexes

For a hotel, the name and the street are enough; the driver waits at the entrance the hotel uses for cars, which is not always the one on the postcard. Large complexes sometimes have more than one, so if yours does, say which — three entrances is three different meeting points and only one of them has you standing at it.

Apartment blocks need a block and a number as well as a name. Whole streets here are built from complexes whose names differ by one word, and the reception you want may not be the first one the driver reaches.

Private Villas and Holiday Rentals

Villas are where addresses go wrong most often. Send what the rental agreement says in full, a map pin if the owner gave you one, and the gate or barrier code if there is one. A driver outside a closed gate with a telephone that nobody is answering is a late journey for a reason that could have been solved at booking in ten seconds.

Marinas, Ferries and Anything With a Timetable

Puerto Calero and Marina Rubicón are ordinary bookings and so is Órzola for the La Graciosa ferry. What sets them apart is that something at the far end leaves without you.

Give us the berth number or the pontoon as well as the marina name. These are long waterfronts with several road approaches, and a driver at the right marina by the wrong gate is as stuck as one at the wrong marina altogether.

Tell us which sailing or which check-in you are aiming at and the pick-up is set against that rather than against a round number.

In short Child seats are free and are requested at booking, not on the day. A pushchair counts as a bag. A group fits one vehicle better than two. And anything to do with mobility needs telling us in writing in advance, because the right vehicle has to be assigned rather than found.

Airport Transfers with Children and Child Seats

Seats are fitted at no charge: rear-facing infant carriers, forward-facing seats and boosters. Tell us the ages, and the weights if you know them, when you book. The reason it has to be then rather than at the kerb is simple — the right seat has to be in the right car before the car sets off, and a driver cannot carry every size against the chance of needing one.

If you would rather fit your own, bring it. It travels as luggage in the boot if it is not in use, which means it takes the room of a bag, which means it belongs on the form.

Luggage Space, Pushchairs and Larger Vehicles

On the form, a pushchair is a bag. It occupies the space of one, which is why two adults, two children, four cases and a buggy add up to an estate or a van well before they add up to a saloon. Working that out at a desk costs nothing. Working it out beside an open boot at arrivals costs the first hour of your holiday.

Mobility, Wheelchairs and Reduced-Mobility Passengers

Put it in writing when you book, and be specific, because two quite different vehicles answer two quite different needs. If you walk a few steps and the chair folds, what you want is boot space: send the folded measurements and a people carrier usually covers it. If you stay in the chair for the journey, that is a ramped vehicle and a different arrangement — ask early, because one has to be found rather than ordered.

Frames, crutches, oxygen equipment and assistance dogs are all carried. Say what is coming and the car is picked around it. Of everything on this list, it is the request that cannot be fixed on the day and the one left latest.

Group Transfers to Lanzarote Resorts

For a party of six or more, one vehicle is the better arrangement in every direction: a single arrival time, a single address, a single figure, and it generally undercuts a pair of cars. Sports luggage is the part worth flagging. Boards, clubs and bicycles all come with us, but a board is not a suitcase, and the van is picked around it rather than squeezed round it afterwards.

The whole argument for a private transfer with children in it is this moment: the boot opens where you are standing, the seats are already the right ones, and nobody is counting heads at a rank while a four-year-old loses interest.

It is also the booking where the form is worth filling in slowly. Ages, bags and the buggy, entered properly, decide which vehicle turns up — and that decision cannot be revisited at the kerb.

In short Three things settle a return: the address we collect from, the flight you need to make, and the day. From those the pick-up time is calculated rather than estimated. Collection covers every place on the fare list and the addresses between them. Booking both legs together earns no discount — there is none to offer — but it does mean the second one is already done before you have unpacked.

Booking the Return With the Outward Journey

One extra panel on the same form: the day you are leaving, the address we collect from, and the flight you need to be at. The pair arrive on a single confirmation under a single reference. The cancellation window is counted per journey, though — drop the outward and the return is still live, and the other way round too.

Booking It Later, or Changing It

Nothing is lost by leaving it. A return booked by itself a week later costs the same and behaves the same. Should the dates shift, write to us and the pick-up shifts with them; amending a live booking falls under our terms and is almost always the cheaper of the two ways to change your mind.

What Time Will We Collect You?

From the departure time, working backwards, and not from a round number. The drive, the time of day, and what the terminal is likely to be doing when you reach it all go into the sum — and with an early-morning departure the terminal is usually the part people underestimate. Want to leave sooner than we propose? Say the word and it is booked sooner. The plane is yours, not ours.
